Predicted High-Yield Islamiat Topics
If any LAT section can be called "solved," it's this one. Eight years of papers, same core topics:
| Topic | What HEC asks | Prediction confidence |
|---|---|---|
| Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ | Birth year/place, first revelation, Hijrah, major events, demise | Very high — the #1 topic |
| Five Pillars of Islam | Order, details of Salah/Zakat/Sawm/Hajj, conditions | Very high |
| Holy Quran | First revelation (Surah Al-Alaq), total surahs (114), longest/shortest surah, compilation | Very high |
| Khulfa-e-Rashideen | Order, titles (Siddique, Farooq, etc.), key events of each caliphate | High |
| Ghazwat (Battles) | Badr, Uhud, Khandaq — years (Hijri), outcomes, key facts | High |
| Prophets | First prophet (Adam AS), last prophet, notable events of major prophets | Moderate–high |
| Hadith & Compilers | Sihah Sittah, Imam Bukhari/Muslim, famous collections | Moderate–high |
| Islamic Months & Events | Ramadan, Hajj month (Zil Hajj), Ashura (Muharram) | Moderate |
| Famous Mosques | Masjid-e-Nabawi, Masjid al-Haram, first mosque (Quba) | Moderate |
The pattern is clear: HEC tests foundational Islamic knowledge — the kind taught in school Islamiat — not scholarly depth. If you paid attention in matric Islamiat, you're already halfway there. The rest is targeted memorization of names, dates, and numbers.
Expected Question Types
- Event–date matching: "The Battle of Badr was fought in which Hijri year?" (2 AH) — the single most repeated question format.
- Titles and names: "Who is known as 'Siddique'?" (Hazrat Abu Bakr RA) / "The first martyr in Islam was?"
- Quran facts: "How many surahs are in the Holy Quran?" (114) / "The first revealed surah is?"
- Order questions: "Arrange the Khulfa-e-Rashideen in order" / "Which pillar comes after Salah?"
- Numbers: "How many Ghazwat did the Prophet ﷺ personally lead?" — HEC loves countable facts.
Notice: almost every question has a single, definite, memorizable answer. There are no trick questions here, no "best of four plausible options" ambiguity. That's what makes Islamiat the section where preparation converts to marks at a 1:1 rate.
2-Week Crash Tips for Islamiat
- Build the Seerah timeline first. One page: birth (570 CE) → revelation (610 CE) → Hijrah (622 CE) → Badr (2 AH) → Uhud (3 AH) → Khandaq (5 AH) → conquest of Makkah (8 AH) → demise (11 AH). Memorize this cold; it anchors everything.
- Make a battles table. Battle | Hijri year | key fact. Three battles, one table, permanent marks.
- Drill the numbers. 114 surahs, 5 pillars, 4 rightly-guided caliphs, 6 authentic Hadith books. Number-facts are HEC's favorite question format.
- Solve 10 years of Islamiat sections from our Islamiat past-paper bank — you'll start predicting the questions yourself, which means the patterns are now in your head.
- Pair with Pak Studies. The two 10-mark sections share a study style (memorization) and our combined notes cover both efficiently.
